Blogger Templates

Blogger templates are generally about 20-50 kilobytes and their file format is XML, thats why while searching for Blogger templates on Google, you can come accross with “Blogger xml templates” keyword. About three or four years ago, Blogger templates had classic coding which didn’t support widgets and were more complex when they compared with new advanced Blogger template coding.

After template format updates, a number of template designers gave up creating Blogger templates, while new designers appeared. Actually, new code base was problematic and you were supposed to know typical coding languages such as PHP to understand it easily because when you tried to change a bit of line, you were more likely to come across with bX errors which blocks the change due an unknown error. But still, new xml format was better, because you were allowed to replace elements in your sidebar section and add some Blogger gadgets to enrich your design and blog’s usability, by other mean, your template could be widgetized.

New Blogger templates in xml format were appeared quicker than I thought in those days. Some nerds were able to understand the new code base and create unique Blogger templates in xml format quickly. Also, their website’s popularity increased dramatically due to the templates. But soon, many Blogger template designers appeared and they contributed new and unique Blogger templates to Blogger community.

After seeing so many template designers in community, Blogger users like me and  Francisco, owner of Btemplates.com, decided to create a template gallery for Blogger. Francisco worked hard on his gallery project while I had busy with my other blogs and he managed to make his Btemplates.com very popular in the community and I started working on this gallery after a year later. I knew that it was too late for me because Francisco has already settled on the first page’s first line for the keyword “ Blogger templates “ on Google.  But I was enough experienced and persistent about my project and I started focusing on this project, yet it goes very well right now and I think it will be better after a few months later.

Anyways, things are getting even better for Blogger users in these days since Blogger announced new Template Designer feature which allows you set custom settings like background image, font color, font weight, font height, blog title, description style, number of columns, sidebars and many more without knowing anything about HTML or Blogger code base which means that Blogger users can create their own unique templates in a way they like. By giving this oppotunity to the users,  Blogger decreased the popularity of Blogger templates galleries. But it doesn’t even a problem for us, since we are here to make finding free, high quality and professional Blogger templates easy for you.

I am pretty sure that, in near future Blogger will be great rivalry for WordPress and even Blogger may shake the throne of WordPress because Blogger is free and easy. But in order to be sucessful, Blogger team should add more gadgets to Blogger gadgets library and code base must be improved too. Of course, the team will not stop working and keep shocking us with new Blogger features. Lets wait, and see how future will be like ..
